Tourism near the Cabaliros Inn - High Pyrenees    

If you stay at the Auberge le Cabaliros you will certainly enjoy the quietness and the sunshine of this small village facing the Hautacam ski resort. Should you wish to start your holidays by discovering the surroundings, try the lac d'Estaing, visit the towns nearby and discover the heritage in the Val d'Azun described as « l’Eden des Pyrénées » by a Pyrenean man called Ramond de Carbonnies, as being one of the most sunny and secluded valleys « Val de Lumières ».

Argeles-Gazost on the plain should be visited on foot. The thermal bath, the casino and its park for relaxation, the restaurant, the cinema, and plenty of activities around and about, like horse riding with the riding schools of Bourdalat and Bernicaze, trek through the trees with Chloro'Fil, the spectacle of falcons, vultures and other birds of prey at the Donjon des Aigles, la colline aux marmottes and its inhabitants. Also there are watersports like river rafting, or paragliding from Couraduque.

See Lourdes from the summit of Pibeste with wild birds of prey and its Meditarranean flora, or from the Pic du Jer, unless you wish to enjoy your stay visiting the Marian town itself.

During Summer, you can set out to vist the cols d'Aubisque and Soulor, and if you want you can take the little train of Artouste a few kms away from the Pourtalet near the Spanish border, well known for its "ventas".

The Tourmalet and its Pic du Midi, accessible by cable car from la Mongie, will lead you on a tour to Luz-Saint-Sauveur and Bareges. Unless you prefer hiking in the reserve de Neouvieille or in the Parc National, close to Gavarnie and the cirques d'Estaube or Troumouse.

Pont d'Espagne, lac de Gaube or Vignemale, the waterfalls of Lutour are to be found at Cauterets or in its valley. Feel the magic!

During winter there is the family ski resort of Hautacam, the cross-country ski resorts of val d'Azun with its Couraduque and Soulor domains or, further away, Cauterets, Luz Ardiden, Tourmalet and Gavarnie ski resorts. Whatever your sport, you will find a way to express yourself, skiing, snowboarding or snowshoeing in the ski resorts of the High Pyrenees.

If you feel like it, you can visit the towns, abbeys and castles nearby, with famous names like Saint-Savin, Betharram, the caves of Medous in Bagneres de Bigorre, Mauvezin, Escaladieu with particular stories or emotions to tell.
